Selling Rav

Hi all

Deceided the "old" Rav is to be sold

We simply dont get the use out of it

I advertised it on Sunday night and am simply astounded by the response

It's a 95 2.0 Automatic 3 door import. I must of had AT LEAST 50 calls wanting to buy it, about 70% of those seem to be people from London area not keen, but DESPERATE to buy it.

I've listed it with a possible C V joint problem but they are not put off by this at all.

I have to say that I may be missing something as they are prepared to travel straight away to get their hands on my car.

Have I underpriced it? Listed it at £900 as there are no price guides for cars of this age

Is it because it's an Automatic?

The majority sound foreign, one chap even offered me £50 more than the asking price if I sold it to him!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

It might just be a reaction to the weather that fizzles when it changes. Just wait for some opinions on the price then be prepared to push a quick sale.

Good luck.

No idea, but sell it quick. Mine was vaguely valued at 20k in the summer, I advertised it at 18k for a fairly quick sale, couldn't sell it for 13k in Dec and finally traded it in for an MX5 plus 2k cash. Friend had a Saab valued at 21k and only sold it for 13k.

If you have the offers, take them!

Your 4.1 version of the RAV is a well sought after reliable car which is probably worth around £1500 hence the interest.....depends on the mileage and condition to some extent. The upside for those from space-challenging cities is that the 4.1 3-door is short, light, nippy, and easy to get in and out. I paid £1600 for number 2 last year - a 1994 model with 79,000 miles on the clock and in nice condition and a perfect twin for number 1.

No - my beloved will crack up if I even hint I might be buying another 4.1....or any car for that matter!!!!

Funnily enough, it looks like the charity I help may be getting a grant to recycle unwanted bricks from building sites and I'd bid for a new 7.5tonne lorry for that - but these things only come in diesel - thank goodness they only have 3 doors though    Wonder if i can supercharge the lorry somehow???

Right, stop it now !!!!!!!!!!

Literally 20 minutes ago a lad came and took it off my hands for £900

He pushed for me to fill the tank up with petrol but I told him not to be so cheeky (or words to that effect !)

I'm gutted as I didn't really want to sell it but our current financial situation meant we couldn't justify keeping it to use once, maybe twice a week

Anyway I can now look forward to giving our "new" Rav weekly cleans instead of fortnightly ones !

(must remember to update my profile after my recent sad loss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
