i am talking about the ones that look like angle grinders but have a polishing mope instead of a crazy sharp disc lol. the ones that spin really quickly

i do have an angle grinder, which i have heard can be used as a polisher by putting a polishing mope on it?

will it work not too good when it comes to detailing

If you did not get a decent finish with a polisher like that then I suggest you were doing it wrong or using the wrong cutting/polishing product with it

As for putting a polishing mop onto an angle grinder.... go on do it.... yes do it and please post up the photos when you have finished.... go on I dare you ;)

The Megs kit would make an improvment but it wont do much in the way of removing swirls you do have to machine polish that out.

See my thread on the Mercedes Benz Forum. This will tell you everything you need to know.

Investing in a good polisher is the best bit of money you will ever spend. The PorterCable or Meguiars G220 will remove swirl and will also do an excellent job for just generally waxing and polishing. Dont buy a cheap unit it is now worth it and it may do more damage than good. A dual action polisher will never damage your paint work.

A few years ago the only way to get a good polisher was to import one from the USA, this is still a really good possibility and I still buy stuff from the states because of the discounts you get even though the Pound is strong.

Autopia is an excellent shop and site and the "How to" section is second to none.

I have just bought a Toyota IQ and used my polisher on that, the dealers never get the paintwork really nice even on a new car. It now pops with colour.
