Rav4 Diff Lock

I seem to have trouble disengaging the difflock on my '98 Rav4. Have tried a few things but when the diff lock button is released the light goes off but a bleep bleep sound is emitted - which I presume means it is still engaged??

Any advice out there for this situ?

Cheers,

Dave. :help:

Hello. :)

I have one question. I have 1994 Rav4 3 doors. All time I have RWD, but sometimes it`s switch to AWD. And I want to know, when it`s switch? Maybe it`s dependet on RPM. I don`t now. :)

P.S. Thanks. And sorry for my english language. :)

Welcome to the club.

It should only operate if you press the diff lock button. Are you saying it sometimes comes on without you operating it?

No, withaut diff lock. When I push harder accelaration, then switced to AWD. I think its be depended on RPM. It`s true? I hope you understand me. :)

I think so.

The diff lock is worked by vacuum but I think that you may have a faulty ep valve which is allowing some of the inlet manifold vacuum to get to the actuating piston.
