Who cares if one car is a tiny bit faster than another one??

All depends on the drivers aswell...Put a good driver in a T-Sport and an average driver in the pug, the YTS will win and vice versa.

Yes mate i have read all the posts not only the first one...Basically somebody wants to give his/her T-Sport a bit more power to be on par with a 106GTi.

The reason i posted "Does a second or so really matter" is just that....Does it matter? Imo, i don't think it does as on paper both cars are so similar, obviously the Yaris has the upper hand in the reliability stakes so it wins on that one.

Then again, if it's about the "All important" Maccie D's carpark power stakes, then the pug will win.

Haha that's a great pic.

But on topic, the Pug 106 Gti is much quicker than it's official 0-60 suggests and as has already been discussed it's more on a par with the Paxo VTS 7.5s 0-60 time. I seem to remember at the time that the official 106 time was achieved with a passenger in the car which obviously affected the time - or so folklore would suggest.

But the fact remains, put a standard YTS and 106 GTi in a straight line or in the twisties and the Yaris wouldn't stand a chance. The 106 Gti is a huge favourite of Clarkson's so enough said.

Just be happy in the knowledge you drive a better car next time your mates GTi buzzes past you!

The official 0-60 for the 106 GTi is nonsense, these are real fast wee cars, id easily believe 7.5 to 60, they go like stink for what they are!

The Yaris TS is much nicer, but the 106 is without a doubt the faster car!...But speed isnt everything! Id far rather have Toyotas quality build and reliability!
