in lamen terms....

BUYING ONLY THE HID bulbs IS NOT PERMITTED.

A FULL HEADLAMP CONVERSION IS REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE LAW.

lol.

full conversions are how much? anyone know average price? i would rather just get bulbs

Do your insurance company not mind insuring something that's not road legal?

If the headlights were the cause of an accident then yes! they probably would. Its like blue bulbs ....such a small minor illegal modification however does it effect your insurance?? what about neon lights???? they can be fitted but may not be turned on will they effect your insurance?

In the event of claims some things are not touched upon. I had an accident in my last car with a cat back exhaust system, i was rear ended and i remember my bumper was cut slightly to fit the exhaust in neatly. When they replaced the bumper they re cut it for me....didnt say anything about the exhaust and my wheels. They could have made a fuss at that point why should they carry out repair work with an aftermarket exhaust which will need the bumper to be cut slightly to house it.

HIDS4U are sellign H4 kits at £349, typically £100 more expensive than any other bulb type!

if you do cause an accident by having HIDs. I'm sure you'd get reamed and get a severe telling off.

The other worry is if you have an accident i dunno if your insurance company would actually pay out.

Only if its related to the lights.

I heard elswhere on this forum that the rozzers don't usually mind if you have 6000k or below, but any higher and its yer nuts in a sling!

ye thats the general thing that i have heard. if you own some 6k's you are most likely to not get stopped ever!

if you have anything above 6k, the attention meter rises cos the lights look more bluey and stand out more so the risk increases.

obviously this doesnt mean you WILL get stopped and some of my mates have gone with 10k and never heard a copper in sight!

its all about if you are willing to take risk.

personally i prefer the white colour of the 6k's i dont like the blue tint the higher versions have.

Its funny how police dont like loud exhausts! If it was a Ferrari, then theyd have no prob!

mine are like purple LOL

You should get pulled over everyday!

I'm not so keen on the purple myself, and I'd rather go for the blue.

It'd be nice to see whta the purples look like though!

The, 10000k kit i have is afull HID kit, i got it off my mate but they can be bought online everywhere. The purple is really nice,Its a more pure blue but from very far away it gives a purple kind of reflection. Its the kind of xenons you see on range rovers and lambos. They are hell bright tho ha!
