Hi all, Right at the moment im 17 but its comming upto my 18th so as you can guess im looking for a glanza v.

Now iv seen plenty i like but im having problems with the insurance.

Im useing tesco insurance online and there are a few different models on there but non that i could click on and be sure its the right one.

Tesco have a drop down list to pick what car, theres no Glanza so i clicked Starlet but then there was another drop down list with differnt models of the Starlet

The list has these models to pick from:

GLS

CD

SPORTIF

SR

SOLIDA

SOL

All 1.3ltr, non say non-turbo or turbo so im a bit lost.

If Someone could shed some light on this for me i would be very gratefull.

Regards Frazer

Right iv had a look round the site and found out a few things out, the glanza v is an imported car so not many insurers will have it in there system.

Just use the phone and talk to a human bean.

When I got the Verso I went to the Toyota insurance site for a quote, they didn't list the SR spec, so if toyota don't know what UK spec models they sell how is any other insurer supposed to know.

Dont tell them it is a Starlet if it is a Glanza, you will find yourself uninsured should the worst happen. As above, get on the phone, as you must give them the exact car details. Some high street insurers don't insure grey imports, so you may need to go to a specialist

17 with a Glanza - sounds pricey !

Good luck

Prob best to go with a non turbo mate for a few years first. A glanza will be astronomical at 17.

k lads thaks for the advice, i gave tesco a ring who i am currently with and they couldnt insure me becuse im under 21 ands its an imported car.

Im going to try elephant tomorow see what they have to say.

Iv heard of some people being on there parents policy with a glanza but i sill couldnt get insured althought i do have 6 point for drivng a motor un-insured against 3rd party so thats a big problem and will probly be the reson i do not get a glanza.

So for the im being how are the non-turbo starlets compared with say i quicksilver 106 or a 1.4 civic ?

thanks again Frazer

I thought if you got 6 points in your first 2 years of driving you lost your licence and had to retake the test???

Anyway..

.. I would have thought that the non turbo Starlet would keep up with a 1.4 civic and a quicksilver, Starlets don't weigh alot so have a good power to weight ratio ;)
