Hi people,

I'm a new memeber so a quick hi to you all.

I've got an Avensis T4 1.8l vvti, of which the Big Ends have just given way. a common problem with these engines due to the Oil Pump being the root as well as the high Oil consumption.

I'm after a replacement Engine, but i'm too weary to go for a recon unit due to many having to regrind and polish the crank.

Does anyone know of any Engine yards thats are reliable and have a good reputtation??? If soo, i'd appreciate a response.

Try Middlesex Rebores at Mill Hill roundabout, number in the Yellow Pages. Why not give them a ring & talk money regarding them over hauling your engine.

Why the concern regarding crank regrind!! If not satisfied try your local scrap yards, but you will have to find a runner to make sure no strange noises from engine when fitted.

PS: You will get a better warranty from engineering firm than scrap yard. You may find your pistons may be at fault.
