Speaker Upgrade 2002 Hilux 4x4

Hi.

I am wondering if anyone has ever fitted Speakers into the front door panels of a 2002 Hilux 4x4 [imagine 2x4 would be the same?].

Ive had the panels off. Speaker looks to be a 6" with 4.5" mounting points.

So Im looking for a speaker with about 6.36" [or 161mm] diameter mounting points. [Why such an odd size?!!].

These ones look like a straight fit in. http://www.etechonline.info/line/3862/

Any ideas.

Also upgrading the player to a CD player with an iPod input if you have any ideas [factory unit is 178mm wide by 50mmhigh?]

Cheers.

I never replaced the fornts but i fitted Pioneer TS-G1749 in the rear with no trouble and imagine they'd be similar to fronts size wise. Very slim, very cheap but very impressed with them. Got 4 of them in my old mk3 now.

Looking to get a Pionneer DEH-P700BT for mine now. It's one of the only ones i can see with a rear aux-in so you can hide cabling easier/run it to the glovebox out of sight ;)

I got a Sony CDX GT-570. Went straight in. Figured out the wiring from the Surf wiring diagram I had seen posted on this forum.

Front Speakers went with 6.5" Fusion 2-way and rear 4" Fusion 2-way.

Had to run about 2' of speaker cable to the rear doors because the rear wiring loom didn't go into the door [only up to it - never had rear speaker fitted from factory]

Its all go now.
