Multiple Problems With My Auris

hi guys,

i know there have been posts on some of this before but i thought i would see if anyone has any updates.

i have a 57 reg auris tspirit 1.6 which i bought 2nd hand in last june. it was an ex display model. it has a push button for starting and has just had its 1 year service where the brake pads were replaced.

ok first problem.

(1) i was reversing the car out of the driveway today when it started making a really low horn like noise. it was more when i was releaseing the clutch slightly. If i pushed the clutch right down, the noise went but returned as the clutch was let up. this has been going on for about 3 weeks but was quiet before. now it is so loud that people inside the house came out o see what was going on.

(2) I then stalled the car. when i tried to start it again, it seemed like the engine was flooding. it didnt start for about 5 mins then suddenly started again, but the engine seemed really sluggish. after driving around for a bit it seemed ok.

these are my main concerns as i cant get it into the garage for about 2 weeks and it just doesnt sound right.

(3) the next problem is the official ipod connection. if i switch on the ipod from the stereo control, it displays cd1 but doesnt play anything. i have to then go and disconnect then reconnect the ipod to get it to work. the garage dont think there is anything wrong with this..

(4) finally the rattling dashboard.

the garage cant find anything wrong. has anyone had any success in getting this fixed?

Rattling dashboard could be the airbox being lose thats the same problem I had

The reason for rattles could be electrical switch (it was on the forum before- with photos )

The lack of power could be caused by anything: petrol, dirty filters, ECU etc... See if it occurs again and if so take car back to the dealer.

There was some brake issues discussed about the car makes noise while reversing- again back to the dealer.

thanks for your replies. i did try to book it in yesterday but the service centre closed. i will call up first thing tomorrow and try to get it in.

does anyone have any ideas about the ipod connection?
