How Do You Tell The 140 From The 190?

With the newest shape celica, how can you tell the difference between a 140 and a 190 on autotrader?

I thought that if you just looked for ones listed as VVTLI they'd be the 190's and the VVTI would be 140, but on parkers (which i know isn't always right) it has some 190 models listed without VVTI.

So on autotrader how can i tell which is which?

Search using "T Sport"

The 190 was re-named ;)

Yes i know about that but what about the ones made before the t sport brand was introduced.

Hi Tyranical

If you want a 190 Bhp - search for the T-Sport or the GT

I'm still a 'Noob' Celica owner, but, if you can afford it, (and find one), go for the 2005-2006 GT......

Real, real 'Production' head-turner

It's the last UK 'production' version of the Gen 7 Celica with all the 'bits' (Possible collector item)?

Sat in my local Dentists for 45 mins on Thursday, (awaiting my appointment), just watching people pass my car, and they are thinking

- 'nice motor, pr*ck, b*stard, f*ck, nice, stunning, beautiful car & where can I get one'?

I'm a 'Noob' Celica owner, & luckily I've saved my '£'s' to the last minute

Very satisfied with a Nov 2006 Celica GT, 17k, FTSH - absolutely immaculate throughout

I have been smiling since 07/02/2009, (collection date), (and will be smiling for a very, very, very long time to come)

Look out for my 'experience' posts in the near future.......

(Can't post too much now......... too busy driving, cleaning, (subtle modding), & cherishing my Gen 7 GT)

Happiest I've been in my life - except for my Wedding Day, (Thank god, My Wife loves being 'Driven' in the Celica)

(Sad, but true)

Regards

Felfy

All 190s are VVTL-I

All 140s are only VVTI

Autotrader very often makes mistakes and mixes them up.

Buy from Mr.T. Up to seven years old you will get a full one years Toyota warranty.

Yup, the old 190 'L'.....ift..........

Great Car/Engine

Had a 'L'.....ift.......... moment, today, with a Golf on a tight, 90' Left-Hand, uphill, off-camber, dual-carriageway bend, (slightly wet)

(He/She/It was 400 yds in front, inside lane, really, really trying ) - Must have seen me in the distance

Me, outside lane, closing fast and...........

And........

And........

And........

Errrrmmmmmm.......

Ooooppppppssssss.....

GT stuck to the carriageway's outside lane like honey to a bee's bum

Sweet!

(Like a Bee's Bum, so I've heard, not like I've tasted one :nono: )

Golf left wondering.........

What the F*ck was that?????

(And I wasn't even trying................)

(too much.....) :yahoo:

I love my GT

Get one ASAP

Best Wishes

Imagine having the same power in an "old man's car".... the look on people's faces is absolutely priceless!!

"A Corolla?? What the :censor: "

P.S. Any Celica owners want to join us at Santa Pod, 8th March for RWYB??

Be interested to have a run against a Celica 190/T Sport ;)

My wife owned a red lowered Corolla MKI TS for 2.5 years and then a MKII for another 2.5 years.

Unless yours has engine mods it won't beat a Gen 7 TS in a staight line. Mine is a full second quicker.

Infact I'd put her T180 up against one.

Yup, Norfolk n Chance

That was the part-ex car for my 2006 Celica Gen 7 GT

A 2001 Corolla 1.6 vvt-i GLS

(Loved it to bits, never let me down in 5 years of motoring)

But, now down to the serious bit of My/Our life..........

My/Our Gen 7 GT

(My Wife has contributed to this purchase, can't fault Her, She loved our 3.0 Ltr, V6, 24 Valve Camry - She knows her cars)

I'm taking Her for a drive 'round Malvern & Ledbury tomorrow - She doesn't know it, but She will when I shake Her out of bed at 5.00 or 6.00 AM tomorrow

(The best time for a drive - Vorsprung-Durch-Get-Your-A*se-Out-Of-Bed-Technic - You know it makes sense)

I 'know' the roads so it will be a good test for my 2006 Gen 7 GT

And We'll stop off at the Hayslad Spring at West Malvern Road for a 'fill up' of healthy Spring Water at approx 9.00 AM

See you there?

(Or anyone else interested)?

Malvern Springs

Hayslad Springs

Best Wishes

You get a very different opinion from Corolla owners that have been up against them ;)

Can we not fill the thread with "celica is faster than corolla" <the spuds of lurrrrvve>s

Same engine, same power output, same gearing, almost identical weight (20kg difference isn't it?) corolla is actually more aerodynamic than the celica.

How does any of that point to the celica being, and i quote "a full second faster". The only way the celica is a full second faster is on paper, due to understated figures by toyota to keep the insurance cost down and to protect their precious celica, which cost 4k more than a corolla which is just as fast.

They are the same car with different bodywork.
