Welcome to the club.

I take it you have either the 2.0 or 2.4 VVTi engine. This is chain driven and other than regular oil changes needs no further maintenance.

Cheers.

Hello...

My 4.2 D4D RAV4 has a timing belt. The book says you have to change the whole "distribution" (timing belt, rollers, etc) every 105.000 km. I have changed mine when it had 94.000 km, because that was when I bought it.

Regards, Cristian

Timing belt every 60 000 miles and tensioner when it is out of the setting range can't remember what that is but will look it up. However as Aman says. Chain just keep regular oil changes. Shouldn't have a problem. You should only ned to cahnge rollers / idlers if they are running rough. Even then I would look at changing the roller bearing in them first cos that might be a lot cheaper. it just takes a bit of time and patience usually.
