Picnic Owner/toyota Owning Family

Just thought i'd say hi. my mum and dad are serial toyota owners, having had a 95 corolla sportif (which i got handed to me) and currently have a 97 picnic and a 99 yaris. my dad is due to give me the picnic this year as he wants to downsize to a another new yaris or possibly the new IQ for his "retirement " car. he has been in both and likes the iQ a lot. just depends on the package the dealer will offer. the bluemoon promotion may sway him to a yaris.

my mums 99 yaris was apparently on the 99 british motorshow toyota stand back in 99. its a 5dr 1.0L in silver with unique "yaris" decals on the lower doors and has factory fit sat nav.

and the picnic is a 97 GLX i think, 2L auto, twin sunroofs, 6 individual seats in silver. has done only 52k miles.

i have some questrions about picnic parts and will ask in the appropriate area.

on a side note, i also have a 72 mini clubman with a 2L 16v engine fitted (very fast), and a 66 triumph spitfire. the wofe ahs a smart roadster coupe that i rebuilt as a cat d insurance job. 'm not a mechanic BTW, juts a hobby mechanic.

thanks all

matt

its the 1998c 16v "redtop" engine out of a 92 vauxhall cavalier GSI. 150bhp as standard but i have mine running mappable FI through hayabusa throttle bodies and honda S2000 fuel injectors (thats roughly170bhp in a 600kg car).

PS my current daily car is a mk4 golf GTI turbo with 200bhp. i'm currently selling this to take on my dad's picnic. quite a step change in cars but i'm looking forward to it. i'm planning to make chnages to the suspension and wheels as its currently 1) too high 2) too wallowly. although its only done 52k miles its nealry 12 years old so the shock absorbers have had their day (not leaking though).
