hi,just got a 1997 mk3 hilux double cab.how often should the cambelt be changed.looking through old bills and mots it was done 40000 ago-is it due or can i let it go another 10000 or so? :rolleyes:

Hi Cletus

Most Toyota's have a 60,000 mile/100,000 km reccommendation, if you have just got the vehicle and don't know if and when it was replaced then you would be wise to change it(if only for your peace of mind). Not sure about the Mk3 but most have a light on the dash that will tell you when it's due,but only if it was reset on the last change.

From the factory the light should come on when it's clocked up the above mileage
