Sister-in-law Beat Me To One.......new Rav4 Owner.....

My Sis-in-law has beaten me to it, she has just bought a 52 reg Rav4 petrol 3dr NRG auto in dark green and 52k on the clock with no quibble 6mths warranty and service thrown in. Anything serious I should look for before she picks it up?

Hasn't been offroad by the looks of it underneath, all looked clean sounded good, no towbar, and the atf fluid looked still reddish , but sweet smelling, so original, will change it out next service. I have to say it's rather nice, and has most of the needed features. Just had a couple of stone chips and the bumper looked same colour and sheen as all other colour coded bits.

Can anyone tell me what the spec is meant to be? I noticed it looked like it had reversing sensors on each bumper?

I think she did well for £4995, as parkers rated it at around this and the warranty is thrown in and so is the service, I also got a new Battery in the deal, as trickle charging it when you turn up, didn't give me much faith. So new Battery with 3 yr warranty.

I presume this a 4.2 model, just don't know waht a NRG is about.

I want a five door job with all the trimmings now!

Thanks, seen all the specs, but they don't say reversing sensors on the options, two round discs on bothe rear bumper sections. Also what is the button next to the autobox for? I think it said 'shiftlock' or 'autolock' what does it do? Is it to do with 4wd? Difflock?

Anything costly that fails that I should double check for before she takes delivery. Have seen that they can use oil past 40k miles, anyone else know about this?

Thanks in advance.

Blimey so many questions and it's not your RAV.... ;) ;) ;) ;)

Unsure of the button on near the autobox ?? mine is a manual... But all 4.2 model RAV's are permanent 4 wheel drive.... newer one's (4.3) model are selectable....and the older 4.1 had the difflock option....

There would be at least 4 round disks if it had reversing sensors fitted....the disk's you see may be access panes for screws ;) ;)

Can be seen on the rear quarter clearly, too big to be anything else.

I have to double check bits as she asked me to look at the car for her. Anyone know a good warranty company for her peace of mind?

Looks like someone has done a DIY sensor job. They seem to be fitted a bit high to me - test them out to make sure they work before relying on them.
