was heading into work today - just pulled off the M25/J1a to head off on the A206....

in the correct lane for the A206 when this white van comes cutting from the far right lane across 2 lanes.. i brake hard & the van narrowly misses my car - sound the horn & tuck in behind

then this merc behind me flashes me & toots at me when he passes me....

Damn Mercedes drivers & white van drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!

:ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor:

Didn't you know mate, Merc drivers and white van owners actually own the road. Technically they both owned the same bit of road at the same time :P

Funny coming back from work tonight queing in two lanes to join A1, I let a car out from sliproad then a bike comes flying (60 plus?) down the middle of both lanes, just as the car I'd let out went to move straight into outside lane  Now I've been riding bikes since I was 16 and it's idiots like this that give us a bad name  Car driver was at fault also but neither even realised what they just missed ;)

Right, I'll step down of my soapbox now

I drive a big-***** white van for work.

I do own the road and I always will have the right of way :P

Just kidding... but sometimes you just feel like driving like that because of the way pretty much all car drivers (and their attitudes) treat you when you are in a van. But it has to be said that BMW and Merc drivers are the worst.

Have to admit, until last year I had a white company van for 11 years  But it had stickers on so it didn't count :P

chyownster, go out, do your CBT or whatever it is nowadays and get yourself on two wheels

Not bragging but it does make you a better driver, think its cos you use more observation

And when you're on a bike you do own the road

Just outa interest what size engines do them Mercedez Sprinters have??? they same to be able to outrun any company car driver, well at least push him along the outside lane with a few millimeters between them

As an (ex-)biker I must say that I think that all car owners should be made to ride a bike for a few months. For most people it really improves the level of road observation, as well as giving you a far better understanding of the risks.

Unfortunately there are always a few who are total :censor: heads, but then again they probably would be on/in any form of transport.

FWIW I've got a 1994 BMW 1100LT (ex-Police) for sale if anybody's interested  about 65,000miles on the clock.

Chyownster - go and do the CBT. You'll see soon enough if you've really got the bug or not. Especially if you do it in winter :P

Met a guy once that had a 2nd gen Transit with a Granada V6 in it. Don't know the power, but as it was his rally support vehicle it needed to keep up... and it could  (more or less)
