I can't really understand how on earth one fine day you washed the car & found all that rust!!!! Its sooo clear the rust was caused by a severe stone chip, leavin no paint & after some good time rust formed for good!!! I guess you never treated it mate...... & now you're puttin pics on this forum trying to make us believe that rust can form overnight!!!

I didn't say that the rust has formed overnight, althought the rust has popped up very quickly. I wash my car every saturday and inspect the whole car afterwards. I started doing that when I drove an 87' Opel Omega, new rust spots every week!

The two spots on top is probably caused by a stone chip, but the lower one has evolved rapidly and as you can see the rust has spread over a much bigger area. Including blisters under the paintwork. My dealer has agreed to fix it on my warranty, especially since the car is 5 months old.

The car is fixed and good as new! Removed the rust and resprayed the door.

Didn't cost me anything, and I got a rental car while car was fixed.
