Rear Wiper Rubbers

Passing through Builth Wells the other day I called at the local dealer when I realised my rear wiper blade needed replacing. Although they did not have one in stock, a price of £3.49 was quoted.

Three days later I was in Shrewsbury, and the rubber was now in danger of becoming completely detached so I went to the agent there and they fitted one for me at a cost of £8.66 inc. vat.

I also enquired about the front wipers being replaced and Shrewsbury quoted a price of £50 odd as they were a special aero flow type, I am not sure whether that was for each arm or the pair. Built who had them in stock, but not sure if they were standards or aero flows quoted £20 odd, again not sure whether as singles or pairs.

So Parts King, our trusted friend, could you give some clarification here please' the car is an 07 series 3.

OK, Toyota do two ranges of Wiper Blades, original and Optifit. Optifit blades are aimed at the older Toyota market, although there is quite a bit of interchangeability (is there such a word?) I always quote the Optifit prices, they are far far cheaper and to be fair, an excellent blade, with the same performance as original. Optifit blades only fit the front, rear blades have to be original, prices for a 4.3 RAV are as follows

RH Optifit Blade 8.57 plus VAT RH Genuine blade 31.02 plus VAT

LH Optifit Blade 3.50 plus VAT LH Genuine blade 15.35 plus VAT

Rear RUBBER 3.56 plus VAT

Rear BLADE 10.29 plus VAT

If our American cousins are reading this, don't fall over at the word "Rubber" it means something entirely different over 'ere

Of course the above are retail prices, the offers discounts to TOC members

A dirty windscreen, or dirty rubbers. Try cleaning the rubbers
