Engine Problems

Hi, i seem to be having problems with my mr-s,

when i start my car the engine vibrates more than usual and on driving it the power is very low through the whole rev range and the engine sort of resembles a subaru but in a bad way. at the back of the car the exhaust is almost sort of splutering. but sometimes as im driving it the power will come back and everything seems fine and back to normal but this only lasts 5-10mins. I had an astra before and the ignition coil went and that had these sort of symptons but it was permanent and did not come back occasionaly.

Any ideas guys?

I'm sorry to read about your problem and I haven't got a lot of time at the moment to answer fully but if you look through THIS post of mine, could it be something similar?

It might not be firing on all cylinders hence the lack of power and scooby sound. Have u checked all your leads and plugs?

I agree, sounds like it's not firing on all cylinders (bit like me in the morning). I suppose you could try 'damp start" or something like it in case the lease are cracked.

Personally I'd take the leads off and check their fitted snugly on to the plugs and that there's no condensation built up around one of the plugs. I'd also check that the plugs are seated nicely and that they electrodes are all the same colour/look.
