Towing

I have finally taken the plunge and ordered a Bailey Provence 23 ft. Caravan. I am currently putting together the necessary package to get started and today have been over to Toyota at Builth Wells. They are going to fit a genuine Toyota recommended bar at a price of £652 inclusive of labour., which I thnik is a very acceptable price. Also to be fitted is an isolation switch for the reversing sensors. The last time I towed I seem to remember it was necessary to fit some sort of electical gadget which enabled the indicators and brake lights on the van to operate without fusing. Does any one know please whether this is part of the electical components included in the fitting, or should I ask Mr. T about it ?

I must again congratulate North Rd. Garage at Builth for their excellent service. They seem to be a very efficient and helpful outfit, and well worth a visit even though they may not be your closest dealer.

Your towbar will come with all the electrical gadgets it needs.

Just one point though, when I fitted a switch to isolate the reversing sensors for my mate he wanted it at the front where he could reach it. The standard arrangement is in the boot. You could ask for the same - it only needs the wires extending to the front and put it in a blank switch plate.

Happy towing!
