why have toyoyta decided to put the fuse box under the glove compartment ? do i need to take the golvebox out to get to it ?

why do only half the car switches illuminate ?

why does the sat nav woman only speak out of 1 speaker ? why not mute the volume on all then make the announcment ? really ****** me off or can this be changed

thought i would just get that off my chest :D

Your need one of these....Kingo maybe able to help but I believe it's a new upgrade for the RAV's.....not on the dealers stock list yet.... ;) ;)

Sat Nav cant help you on that one.... but using TomTom, I can use any voice I like......the Playboy Bunny Girl is my current favourite.... just getting lost is now a joy, and to hear her tell me to "Turn Around Naughty boy" "Your going in the wrong direction" ha ha ha Who cares........ :lol: :lol: :lol:

The fuse box was moved to allow more room to accommodate the extra row of doors behind to create the 5 door model. In doing this, the wiring loom could not accommodate the extra door switches so compromises had to be made. You will probably find that by leaving the rear doors slightly ajar, then the volume will be curtailed.

The US model has the fuses in the same place so theirs is behind the knee panel near the steering column. There are more fuses in the engine bay. It is literally 30 seconds to get the glove box out - we got the best deal there!

Its the same in the Avensis - drives my mate mad. Again I believe it is geared to the bigger markets as the voice comes from the passenger door.

I've got annoyances with my 4.3.

I'll second the illumination as a major annoyance. And frankly bloomin dangerous at night. Sooner or later I will buy some luminous paint from a fishing tackle shop and put dabs around - best I can do unless others have ideas?

Storage space is awful (though a slight improvement on the 4.2) - door pockets not wide enough for a 1.5l plastic bottle etc.

Lack of one-shot windows on anything except the driver's door. At minimum they should put it on the front passenger door for the driver.

Electric drivers seat with no memory, not even one, HOW STUPID IS THAT? "Buy a dog and bark myself".

Dog guard / cargo net upper mounting points half way between the back seats and the back door. I'd be pleased if anyone can tell me if there is a logic behind it that I've missed? The only thing behind it now is half my boot space :(

12v sockets are I assume still linked to the ignition, which is a pain when going camping with a coolbox.

The funny styling of the dashboard means I often can't see the top of the digital clock, and eg if something is 11 or 17. It's a niggle but a stupid one.

Boot light in the back door, but Anchorman has shown how to fix that :)

In an ideal world I'd like a vertical tailgate with a separately opening window, and the option of xenon lights, but I'll stop there.

Otherwise, I'm really loving it!

Would I buy another? as churchil dogs says 'Oh yes' but can I have xenon for my failing sight and an auto for all the traffic queues. i can identify will you fully , been a "vw" man from day one, but fancied a change.

if only i could have the xt5 spec spare wheel etc, no funny tyres and the t180 morphed with the dsg gear box with paddle shift out of my audi i would be in heaven.

My biggest annoyance with my wife's 4.2 is the fact that the front seats don't return to their original position once someone's got in/out of the back. I mean come on, my mk1 Punto managed that trick.

Another annoyance is the back door not opening to 90 degrees (OK fixable for £50). My drive slopes down towards the house and the door is quite heavy when it hits you while you're trying to get the shopping out.
