ok, fist off - get to work monday to find 2 people covering IT for the company i work for - 5000+ users.... could tell i was going to be busy

tuesday im ment to finish at 5PM but infact leave work at 7PM after a user kicks off about his laptop not loging on to our domain. then find out at 7 that the router on site sends everything to the internet & not our server :ffs:

weds wasnt much better - left at 6:30 trying to get a site printer up & running only to discover someone had unplugged the damn thing.

then this morning my car windscreen shatters - luckily stayed in place for me to pull over.

Autoglass want £250+ - RAC want £150+ (this is for a nissan Micra - not worth 150 let alone 250)

wahts instore for friday???? anyone else have a bad week?

Hehe

In the middle of the night your company will have a power cut. The UPS's that you thought would keep there server up for a bit fail this happens while the backup is running.

Because of this when you come in on Monday morning you will have 5000+ people screaming that they cannot get into there system! hehe You will find when you try to log the servers back on that backup exec 9 has deleted the boot.ini file and none of the servers will start.

You then spend the morning getting all the servers back up, and at lunch time some Muppet will come and ask why when they try to send a new message via outlook they do not get the function to type someone’s name in and outlook underlines this “USER” is unaware that he/she is not the most important person in the universe .... you will then punch this person in the face and demand that people understand the :censor: crap morning you have had....

Sounds about right, except you left out the fact that 5 disk drives would not sipin up after the power outage.

Let's not start about a boss that knows nothing about what you do, is trying to tell you what to do next.

But then it's Friday, so in the long run, you have all weekend to get the systems back up and ready. :help:

Your the IT guy, you not allowed to have feelings, a life, a personality.

The corporation says so, and the bosses behave so. Our poor IT guy is great, he's a really nice bloke. but boy he cops every mistake microsoft, NEC, any useless user, dimwits etc every made!!!

(Remeber in the words of the great

"tttttthhhhiiinnngggss can only get better!, and what happened to them)

mehh - if our servers crashed we'd loose about a terabyte of data...

the company would probably shut down

were getting our own generator installed on the roof of the building but wont be compleat for a few months.

sods law the backup tapes we keep off site are corrupt & carnt restore - like my boss found out & lost 140+GB of data... :P

You've only had a bad week!

My new year started with our workshop loosing half of our fleet (55 vehicles & trailers).

My best fitter jacked the first week he came back after the hol's

I had to make two of my staff redundant.

My apprentice was sent to the new depot maintaining the transfered fleet.

My wifes company has been taken over and she faces redundancy.

The Roadster needs the alloys replacing (warranty---Phew!).

Topping it all, I've just broken a bloody fingernail!

Still you've got to laugh. :D :lol: :) :( :angry::crybaby:

I always remember these wise words.

"If you're down and life is bad, smile be happy, things could be worse."

I did smile, I was happy----and things did get worse!
