Speaker Wire......help!

I have bought some 16.5 Alpine Speakers for my doors as the standars blew up

I dont know the polority of the wires though, both wires have stripes on them so making me tell which one is + and which one is - is proving very hard!! I took my head unit out so I could look at the colours going into head unit and work out from there...... Well they are different colours to the wires in the doors.....how difficult is this :(

Anyone know which colours are + and - on a 1998 Avensis

The easiest way is to connect to a speaker play some bass not too loud and watch which way the speaker is moving i.e. on a bass note the speaker should push out if it sucks in on a bass note the wires are the wrong way round. :D
