but what about the particulate matter? The DCAT emits virtually no particulates, and absolutly none is used with V power diesel, if you go to the Shell website, you will see that the v power diesel was part developed with toyotas DCAT system

Dear All,

I have done 1200 miles in my SR180 now and there has been a weird noise that comes from the engine in 1st and 2nd gear when you give it a bit of beans. It sounds like the engine is <I thought I could get past the swearing filter - what a sad muppet I am eh?>ed to be honest, like a loud grinding / growling sound. I have also been very dissappointed with the power output of the car, there isnt a slap from the turbo that you usually get from a diesal and was wondering if there should be.

All in all the car is lovely to look at but i am not keen on the engine at all, very disappointed indeed.

I've completed 10 000kms in my 1.8RX and the motor has opened up quite a bit from new,

I noticed 1-3500 rpm is a bit dull but once hit the 4K mark, then power starts to flow till 6000. I only owned normally asspirated cars and don't feel the Auris different to most other VVTS.

Initially I test drove the 1.6 and that really screams a lot !! I personally would change those service intervals to, at most 10 000kms per oil change. That growling type of sound is definitley degraded oil !!.

My initial ride was a 2.0L nissan sentra, ( Pulsar) which I used to change oil at every 7500 kms. When driven hard oil does degrade quicker, even synthetics!!
