hi all new to this site was after some info if anyone can help going to change all the rear end brake items disc's pads and shoes due to wear and was wondering how hard it would be to change the hand brake cables was thinking of doing this the same time has those other jobs so it's all completely new i have no pit or car lifts just my 3 ton jack and axle stands i had the car given to me so i don't know how much life is left in them i know it struggles to hold on steep hills but that could have been down to worn shoes any info would be great thanks.

Disconnect the handbrake cables and watch as some one works the handbrake up and down. If they move ok you don't need new ones. A jack and axle stands is fine. Failure to hold on hills is either siezed cables or seized mechanism.
