Antifreeze -> Windscreen Washer Bottle

Hi all,

I bought a bottle of what I thought to be windscreen wash with antifreeze from Asda , however on closer inspection it is *coolant* antifreeze (ethylene glycol) which would be fine except I've already put say 100ml in the windscreen wash.

Should I

a) flush out the whole windscreen bottle (tricky how do you do this on a celica without a syphon?)

B) not worry

Thanks.

Why on earth both products have exactly the same label and picture but one says "Windscreen wash/Antifreeze" and the other just says "Antifreeze"

Top up with loads of water and flush through the system. You should be fine. Neat antifreeze sitting on paintwork isn't good but a small amount of diluted antifreeze shouldn't do any harm.

Cool thanks. It was almost full anyhow with water/windscreen wash so only about 100ml of antifreeze added. I think the Gen 7 washer container is 2-2.5l ? so reasonably diluted already.

Safer bet would be to drain/syphon the washer bottle empty (or even disconnect the underbonnet pipework from the washer jets and use the washer pump to pump it empty into a suitable container.)

Even diluted anti freeze is not friendly to paintwork.

Good luck :thumbsup:

stick a hose pipe in the bottle and let it flush it out for 10 mins .

shirley there is a small ammount in screenwash anyways to stop IT from freezing ???
