Towbars Again, Sorry!

I've read some of the towbar threads and got even more confused. I've got a towbar by Tow-Trust that I bought before Christmas and haven't had fitted yet. It's going in on Tuesday and I need to know if it's gonna fit.

It's a 3dr D4D XT3 in lagoon blue with tinted rear glass and is very nice actually :P ! The number plate is fitted to the bottom of the door. The towbar is supplied with single electrics but the mechanic mentioned a possible plug-in system available on some vehicles that makes wiring it in a p of p***. I said I'd check with you guys as to whether there are likely to be any "complications". The trailer is single axle.

Any links or info gratefully received, thanks.

Toyota do a "plug-in" kit that is very easy to fit. The major area of labour is stripping out the rear interior of the motor to get at the necessary plugs and sockets. It's worth remembering that you need ( according to Toyota ) to remove the rear bumper to fit the towbar AND fit the wiring loom. When I did mine, I fitted the towbar and put the main length of loom in position on one day and did the rest of the wiring the following day. Avoids removing the bumper twice.

If you PM "Parts_King" on theis forum he will sort out a Toyota wiring kit for you ( at a discount ) and deliver it by post in double quick time!
