Engine Swap... 3s-ge With The 3s-gte?

Ello people...

Was just thinkin to myself about how easy or difficult it would be to swap a ST185 engine with my 3S-GE...

Questions i have..

- How much would an average engine cost?

- How much would it cost to put in?

- Do i need to uprate the suspension etc???

- Should i just save for a GT4?

My car as you all probably know is a 1992 Celica GT UK spec..

I understand you need the gearbox from an mr2 turbo to fit the GTE engine . Of course you could just get the whole lot from an mr2. Then you need the loom engine loom and ECU. As I understand it fitting them in is quite easy as the blocks are basically the same externally, you need to put your engine mountings onto the new engine of course. It would be sensible to upgrade the brakes as you're likely to be going much faster much quicker. As for costs I'd say budget for around £2 to £3 thousand. A good engine will probably cost you around £1500, talk to Rogue Systems. http://www.roguesystems.co.uk they regularly break mr2's
