Fixing Central Locking/alarm Problem

Right lads :help: when I lock/open my door from the driver's door the central locking does'nt work and it does'nt activate the standard alarm but when i do it from passenger side it activates/de-activates the alarm and the central locking works and it unlocks the driver side door.

Is there a switch anywhere in the driver side door that could b causing the problem, I don't have a owners manual so if anybody could help with some instructions that would be great :D
