Bridgend in Ayr have got an '02 plate 5 door VX for sale for just under £5,500. No, not even with a barge pole. It's had a lot of paint done at the back and I'm not saying that it's bad - but I was able to spot it. Dodgy masking and overspray all over the place. Also had poor tyres, loads of scuffs inside and spots of corrosion on door frames/bottoms of doors etc.

The hunt continues...

Hi Bothy,

You know what? Sod it, back to plan C. I went out today and bought an '02 MG ZT! Since my beloved Punto Sporting got totalled 6 weeks ago in a friendly-fire incident (another Punto caused a three-car shunt that I got involved in), I've been swinging from potential car to potential car. The ZT was the third option with a RAV being the fourth option. Never mind, we've still got my wifes '02 three door NRG :)

Well, you'd struggle to find a new one for sale :)

Spares are OK though, essentially they just took a Rover 75 and drove it through Halfords and what came out was an MG ZT.
