Alloy Wheels

Hi everyone i,m a new rav4 owner and i got my 05 xt3 on thursday the motor is superb but just one small problem there is no spare wheel under the cover, i didn't think to look at it at the dealers, rung them up and they said they didn't think it came with one.

Also is the spare wheel the same as the other 4 wheels or is it one of those silly space saver wheels,I looked on eBay and theres nothing on there, So does any one no were i can get hold of one.

All UK RAVs have a full size spare on a matching alloy wheel. One of our members is selling 4 but otherwise keep checking eBay.

If the car has a spare wheel mounting on the rear door, then there should be a spare wheel inside the cover, it is that simple.

Spare Wheel should be same as all other wheels i.e. Alloy full width and the dealers need to provide you with as spare wheel as that is what should have been under the cover end of!  forget eBay, Dealer needs to supply FOC!

Actually the rear wheel cover you describe is not actually a wheel cover at all.

Its for storing an over-sized doughnut for emergency use if you get stuck whilst doing serious off-roading and need something to eat. The down-side is that the doughnut needs to be replaced every 3 weeks.

Parts King on this forum will be able to supply you with a choice at a discount. He also does a range of pies for the same fitting :lol:

On a more serious note, did the car come from a Toyota dealer??? If so, they should have known that the wheel was missing and one should be there.....they probably removed it for someone else then forgot!!

If you ever feel like changing alloys, the DARE Drift range (these wheel designs change more often than clothes fashions in a clothes shop) is a nice light wheel. Lighter wheels = better performance and a lighter car.

The rav was not got from a toyota dealer just a run of the mill dealer that has so far forgot to tighted up one of the valves on the wheels which gave me a flattie! ,but i made a nice 100 pounds from that told him the tyre was knackered,

So should i get them to buy me an extra large doughnut and the spare wheel for my troubles.
