Do These Ravs Have The Same Engine?

evenin all!!

heres a pic of my 1995 gx rav engine

and this is a pic of my 1997 rav gx

the white one has ridges on the block, like 3 raised lines, the black one doesnt just wondered if that has any relevance

do they have the same engine? hubbys away i have no one else to ask and its dark and raining :(

The 2 pics are the 3SFE engine. Fitted in the RAV sold in the UK from 1994 to early 2000.

The only difference you would see in the period is perhaps a Jap import which may have a 3SGE engine in it.

The 3SFE was used in the MR2, the Celica, and I think the Corolla or similar. It pumps out 127bhp and theres not a lot you can do to this engine to tune it up much. The 3SGE engine is a more robust engine with a bit more oooomph.
