Auto Locking Estima

Hi guys&gals have just Picked up my first ever Toyota Estima(1990) But as soon as i hit 25mph its locking all the doors :censor:

Anybody know how i can stop it from doing this Please???

Can i also just say what a really helpful site this is ..After reading everybodys replys most of my questions have been answered..Like air con,the ect-pwr button..Keep up the good work!

Thats interesting, i know some taxi are fitted this way and also they keep the doors locked when the foot brake is applied. Dont no the answer to this one. there are workshop manuals about but with not having one myself i dont know if any info is available.

Is the auto lock feature that little button on the drivers door? I see a button there with 'lock' on it. Didnt know that was the auto lock. If it is, it could be a loose connection. Maybe undo the switch and the contacts a clean up.

i think that button is to lock/unlock the car..You know how some cars have a button to lock all the doors I think thats all it does!..I have tried it ..it just locks and unlocks the doors

Dont think mine has auto lock then.

But if there is a problem with it, it might just be a loose connection somewhere. Sorry cant help anymore.

i have just sold a vauxhall calibra and it had a toad alarm fitted to it and that locked itself after a short time when moving ito help stp being hi-jacked it might be somthing like that.

has it got an after market alarm fitted.

Ok thanks for all ya help but i have spoken to toyota and they have said its a "feature" this cant be turned off..I can see the idea ,but its a pain in the butt...because it doesnt unlock its self again

I have a Mark II, which does the same! why do you want to disable it? it stops other people from getting in. mine unlock the driver s door when i pull the lever, and the other doorswill unlock with the lock/unlock button on the door? (mine is on the door.

you will get used too it, just enjoy the fact that your car is more special than all those other ones ! except for mine because i think mine is the only one in this country (i think)
