Dunlop Tyres

Changed my front tyres late last week and got a good phone quote and in stock for the originals: Dunlop Sport 01. Got them fitted, washed them next day as you do to remove all the mess and discovered they are actually 01A. They have a different tread pattern. Anyone know any disadvantages to this before I go back to the tyre fitters and kick up a stink?

I think they are faster speed rating (so better keep em).

I don't rate the SP01 too well. They look good but they are too soft and do not offer the level of grip you expect from soft compounds such as the eagle F1. Make sure you fronts are at least 38psi every month or you will get bad edges on the fronts.

Personally I went for harder compound giving less grip in the dry but as good as the eagle f1's in the wet in the form of Falken 452.

I have Dunlop SPORt SP01. I like them, but too noisy especially in the curve

I had these on my fronts but changed them to Michelin's when I had to renew my fronts. I find them slightly quieter. I only have standard 16's on my car so I think these would be quieter than 17's or 18's.

I have the Dunlop Sport SP01 225/45/17 oem tyres fitted and I think they are fine, but what would others recommend and how may miles should I get out of the Dunlops?

I run them at 40psi and the previous set got generally even wear, though the edges were a little bit worse. The 01A just seem to have a different tread, 2000 style and the side wall doesn't look as good, but the rest of the spec appears the same including speed rating. Maybe they're quieter?
