Did a search but couldn't find a post which surprised me.

Just about to get my front tyres replaced on 1.8 T3 for second time (27,000 miles)

Not impressed with the wear rate on the COntinentals I have on there at the moment. SO what are people using. Do I go back to the Dunlop 3000s that we OEM or go for Pirelli P6000 which I was always happy with ont he avensis?

The German ADAC magazine has just done a test of these tyres (although W rather than V rated - I think they did those last year). By far and away the most hardwearing were Michelin Primacys. I think the V rated ones are Michelin Energy Savers which also had the best treadwear in its test size. The only problem with the Michelins are that they are very expensive.

As a matter of interest, why did you swap the Dunlops for the Continentals (were these ContiPremiumContact 2)? I used these on our Honda Jazz as the OEM Bridgestones were useless but I didn't determine quite how fast they were wearing as we traded for the Verso.

I just use budget tyres now as you say they don't last long at all. My original were Dunlop. Now the cars done 45000 and I am on my third set on the front. I just keep an eye on them and check pressure every two weeks. I found fitting expensive tyres a bit frustrated if you get a nail and they can't repair it and you have to fit another one again.

I agree with R Tang.

I used to buy the best for my verso at first, but they didn't last any longer than the budget jobbies. Mines done 65k and I think I'm on my fifth set for the front.

Just get the cheapest, (unless you're a speed nut, but then again you wouldn't have a verso if you were :P ) There are very few really "bad" tyres being manufactured nowadays.

The verso's a heavy old bus at the front...!
