hi Guys

mine Battery serves since 2003 and up-to know. the engine is well started, but sometimes at (minus 5 C) i feel the starting rpm a bit reduced.

So my question is -- what is normal statistic life-time of the Battery???? May be I have to change it during the coming service in 4k kms ??

I ve heard normal Battery serves 5 years -- if all goes well.

Look forward to hear from you soon.

Cheers/Igor

hi there

do not leave me along with comments.

My Battery is still original and has not been changed yet.

So my question is still in force -- please come back with opinioins based on your practice.

Thanks

Igor

Toyota batteries are traditionally very good. In the good old days when they were all made in Japan, it was not unknown for a Battery to last 10 years, and that is no joke! They were exceptionaly good, but the modern Battery is not as good, but you should still get 5-6 years out of it. The cold weather is a killer of batteries, especially as you say, minus 5 temperatures make for difficult starting. If you keep it topped up with fluid and look after it, you should be able to squeeze a little more life out of the old girl

Hi Igor,

I do not know if mine is the original but I havebeen driving the car since October 2007. Should it be the original, this means that it has been in use for six years now. I had the Battery falt backin September but after rechargin it fully recovered. If you let me know how to recognise whether it is original or not I will check and post.

Cheers,

Jordan

Yup my folks used to have a B reg space crusier the factory fitted Battery was in it for 13yrs.

But igormus back to your car the drop in starting RPM when its cold could just be due to the oil being thicker when its colder. Cold oil, more engine drag, possibly = slower turn over for the same power from the Battery.

hi

i track staring each morning and i hhave just felt that the cranking revolutions are less.

I use 5w30 energy saving synt oil -- may be it is only my observations (i hope so). I have last tested an acid density and it was in limits.

May be this is due to cold winter :)) -- will track developments then

Cheers/Igor
