Central Locking Has A Mind Of Its Own!

Hi all, I have a year 2000 diesel Avensis that is having problems with the central locking. the problem shows itself in a number of ways.

1. when i stop the engine all doors lock (occasionally)

2. I cannot lock the car using the key fob (frequently) - but unlocking works fine

3. when i lock or open the drivers door using the key, the other doors do not open (i do not know if this is normal)

4. It is not possible to open the locked trunk using the key (very rare)

5. the doors will not lock when using the door lock button on the drivers door (rare)

This is driving me crazy and I dont know where to begin, Im assuming that it is a sensor or relay acting up but has anyone come across this problem in the past? As always, any help is greatly appreciated!!

I had the same problem with mine and found it is quite common.

I did this and it worked 100% and I have had no issues since.
