Is It A Write Off?

My 03 plate TS has been crashed into another veichle. I think it needs a new bumper, bonnet, grill, radiator, drivers side headlamp and the bit the radiator is bolted to. Anyone know the likelyhood of this beening the end of my Yaris and I's relationship?

All depends if you are going through the insurance route or repairing it yourself.

If the ins is involved then an accident assesor will look over the car, value it on it's current (pre acc) condition and then report what work it needs.

Basically if the amount of work needed to fix it (including parts, painting and all costs) is more than the car is worth then it will be classed as write off.

If you repair it yourself, then you should easy be able to source all the parts needed.

Good luck. ;)

I had a similar accident last month and its getting fixed now. I sourced a bonnet and headlight second hand for about 70 quid and bought a new bumper and grille from toyota for 150. theres a t sport bumper on eBay atm for 70 quid i think so i would consider fixing it yourself will be a lot less hassle and save on the insurance.

Through the insurance. It's getting looked at on wed. £50 excess to get it fixed if they fix it. Think it might be touch and go.

If it's not your fault you shouldn't have to pay an excess, or is the other driver denying it? My be worth going through the insurance and when they write it off purchasing it back from them, and then spending your payout on getting a local bodyshop to repair it privatly.

Reading between the lines, I guess you were to blame as you say hit another vehicle, not GOT hit!

I recon it will be written of but may be a lower cat, not economic repair. Get paid out, fix it from used bits and it shall go again! It will be recorded on the V car register but you can have a further test done, like an extra tough MOT which will remove it or say it has been safely repaired, increasing its new, lower value somewhat!

Yip, my fault. Its been accessed. And they're going to fix it. Woo hoo. Heard good reports about the repair centre. So all going well it should look better than before I crashed it as my bumper was badly stone chipped.
