Unfortunately, nobody answers the question "Is It Possible To Remove The Antenna Base?" :-)

Does anybody know how to remove the roof lining (partly) ?

I had the problem of the aerial catching the underside of the garage door. An aerial mast from the latest VW Polo fits the Auris aerial base, and I haven't found any issue with loss of reception.
