'06 Verso T3- Auto Air Conditioning?

Hi there, I have automatic climate control in my car, but unless I press the AC button then it never kicks in even when it is needed.

So, if I turn the AC on, what I would like to know is, is the AC then permanently on or does it turn on and off as required?

The light never turns off on the dash, and I'd not like to leave it permanently on due to fuel.

Thanks,

Rich.

Climate control needs A/C on to do it's job properly. However, you have manual override of the A/C if you turn it off the climate will just control fan speed, air flow direction and how much heat is added to the air.

With just A/C on or A/C in conjunction with climate control the A/C unit will kick in whenever the air temperature reaching the cabin is higher than the temperature set on the controls. The A/C compressor is not on all the time but will cycle as required, you can usually tell when this is happening as the idle speed will rise slightly.

In my car with full climate control on (A/C on) and a cold car the idle revs change from about 800 to 1100. Once warmed up the idle range changes between 800 and 1000 revs when the A/C kicks in.

Thanks for replying. The key bit I wanted to hear was that the AC cycled on as required, not stayed on permanently just changing the air temperature.
