How To Change Light Bulbs Behind Heater Controls

Hello,

anybody know how to change the light bulbs behind the heater controls on a '99 Avensis. I've seen various posts on this forum but none give a clear explanation. (well not clear enough my non-mechanical abilities anyway)

So far, I've removed:

Centre Console

3 electrical connectors (hazard, rear window, + something else!)

Radio

Plastic tip off the air recycling slider

I now don't know what to do with the heat control unit to allow me access to the bulbs.

Do I remove the 3 knobs (fan, thermostat, etc) i.e. pull them - they don't seem to want to be removed?

Do I have to remove the front panel of the heat unit i.e. 6 black clips (3 top, 3 bottom) this doesn't seem to work either?

Any step-by-step instructions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You're nearly there.

You do have to remove the 3 knobs. Pull hard straight outwards!

And you do have to undo the 3 clips top and bottom and the heater control panel cover will lift off. The bulbs just pull out!
