Hi there

Whilst at Geneva I had a look at the iq, and the door panels where scratched to pieces and looked like a dog had attacked them. i took some pictures as i read about the problem on the forum, but seeing as it was a show car and only the second day of the show it was very disappointing. how this got through testing is beyond me

by the way how do i put the pics up so you can see??

cheers,

Sam

if you don't have some webspace to upload it to I would think that you can upload it as an attachment (max single upload is 2MB according to the blurb under the "reply" box)

that's all them fit models with long finger nails showing off the car, there's not a plastic invented that can repel that, I admit its easy to mark or scratched but if your carefully you can minimize them

Blimey...I get mine Tuesday and I have to say those pictures are scary. what a pity to go all that way to produce a premium car then go cheapskate on the plastic...

Having a laugh aren’t they?

How did that get through quality control? Unbelievable :(

Mine is a week old now & I have long fingernails & wear some seriously big chunky rings that have clumped door few time but no marks yet. I think a lot of it is being careful as I am with all my cars.

Well I hope so anyway, probably go & scratch her today now !

Yep, that's what I've been harping on about all this time...the interior plastics on the door trims are awful, really really unaccepable for a car that costs more than 10k

I urge all IQ owners to complain, it's the only way it'll change.

I've got several gouges and one particularly nasty scratch....and no, I've no kids/dogs or anything like that..this is from normal, considered usage (trust me, I'm almost OCD'ish over keeping cars in fantastic condition)

They really need to offer a solution, otherwise everyone will end up with an unsellable heap (looks wise) within 3 years.

those marks on that pic are NOT from hapless gouging...that's from brushing the doors lightly - I guarantee it.

Not wishing to sound like I'm scare mongering but please beware!!!

Jesus, looking at those pics give me a nightmare!! I notice it's all grains of the plastic that are marked.

Also, consider this all careful owners - what about when you take your car for a service and the mechanic gets in your car? what about when you have a less than careful passenger?

I can't believe I'm the only one that complained....or am I?

I'd put money on no other car interior looking the same with the same treatment.

Maybe the Mk 2 version will rectify the issues. There is a new one coming out in July with a different engine. All of a sudden, the critical comments from the press about the Yaris’s hard plastics seems a positive feature
