I would like some info with regards to the aygo a/c......is it strong enough for extreme hot summers?

It's supposed to be able to make the air 20 degrees Celcius lower than outside temperature. In practice, when it's really hot and the air con has been on for a while recirculating the cabin air is more effective than trying to cool the warmer air from outside.

Yes, it's fine for really hot summers.

PS: you need to operate the aircon occasionally to circulate the refridgerant to help prevent the pipe seals drying out and leaking. 5 mins a week is probably enough

I notice in hotter countries the cars are usually a bright colour (silvers and whites etc) to help reflect the sun. I can’t recall ever seeing a black car, but I’m sure they exist. Also make sure you use the sun screens when you leave your car for any prolonged period, and park in the shade. The more you can do to help the air con along the better it will be.

If the car has been sitting out in the sun, for the first couple of minutes drive with the windows down to vent the hot air as it will probably be hotter inside the car than out, but after that make sure there closed otherwise you'll be air-conditioning the world.

When it's REALLY hot outside I usually drive with the A/C on my feet and the sunroof

open. Before I had the sunroof I opened up the flappy windows in the back to

vent the heat out of the car, but this only works if you have a 5 door...

Have my Gris Oscuro Mica (carbon quartz in uk) Aygo in Mallorca where temperatures are upto 33º. The aircon is brilliant far better than many other units in far more expensive cars. Open the side window for a few minutes after parking in the sun to get the temperature down.

Not had a moments bother with the car in 3 years the only outlay being a new front wiper blade. Also fitted the new plastic retainer to keep glove box lid closed, it work. Tax € 17 !
