Mr T does a two part kit - colour and lacquer. About £8 if I remember correctly. It is now water based so appears quite thin. Several layers needed.

Yeah the paint is quite thin and the first coat will just drop in the chip hole, needs about four tries to get it to finished paint level then when fully dried a good bit of elbow grease to polish it back to a perfesct match.

Toyota do a paint strip thing that peels off a larger strip but i would not recomend useing that as it stands proud of the body and leaves a patch line around the edges.

If you phone Kingo now he will have one at your house in the morning.

He's called John but everybody knows him as Kingo - 01244 821031

Can't speak for AM but I'm pretty sure he means the touch up kit. If you PM Kingo with your Registration etc. before close of play this p.m he will most likely be able to get it off in the post tonight [if he has it in stock - I seem to remember that mine had to be ordered]

Oh I see, it gets confusing when the same person has been called "Mr T" ..." Kingo" and "John" all in the same thread

I will PM and find out.

thanks again. :)

Yeh - get the genuine touch up and you will find it a near perfect match. Don't expect miracles - just shake it well and after removing the excess from the brush just touch a drop into the chip. I find it looks better with one drop rather than thin coats and after a short time you will forget the chip was there.

I used a car wax that came with a hard crayon like chip. However mine is black so not massively difficult to match. just rub the stick until the chip fills up and then polish over the top. Toyota wanted £200 to repsray the bonnet complete. I love my car but not that much.

I friend of mine who used to make kit car bodies also told me to use shoe polish for scratches. That worked a treat you don't know they are there.

IMHO, it's better to apply the paint with a cocktail stick rather than the brush. Build the layers up over a few days and it

should look good.

I agree with that - best method for those tiny chips. Either that or a very fine artists brush. You may as well finger paint it as use the brush in the lids [unless it is a large chip]

I used to use the cocktail stick approach too.

Now tend to use an old fountain pen with fine nib. just dip nib slightly into paint.

For me, I think I do a better job that way, but might not work for everybody. Each to his own.

I use cocktail stick method too, works a treat and you forget it had ever been there if you be patient and "layer" it.

I have a yew green T180 and stone chips tend to stand out more than my previous silver VX.
