Supply Of Poly Bushes For Rav Suspension

I have been looking for a supplier of poly-bushes for my 2 RAVs suspensions - front and back. The stock bushes last about 80,000 miles but being rubber start getting sloppy before that.

I did have an order placed with motorweb in Arizona, from last october....but it appears they have gone bust :crybaby: :crybaby:

I wrote to a UK supplier and got the following reply -

"To warrant making a full set for a vehicle like the RAV 4 we'd want to guarantee sales of at least 100 car sets initially

We have a huge amount of vehicles currently on our development list that we are getting regular enquiries for so therefore they take priority.

Unfortunately the RAV 4 is one that we very rarely get any enquiries for therefore it's difficult to judge it's worldwide sales and popularity with our customers. "

Anyone else out there interested in adding their name ??? The company I asked (no names in case I'm advertising or otherwise) is fairly well known as a POWERful supplier of these things :shutit:

I have been told that they can be machined from the polyurethane plastic stuff - anybody know anywhere that can do this? Or any other possible suppliers in this economic climate?

:g::g: If you have a sketch, I could get one of my young chappies to have a go. Trouble is I doubt we would have any

of that type of material. Machining this type of stuff is quite specialised, and if it has any rubber in it thats worse, it's a real

pain  I'm guessing you've already tried the likes of this company -

I would have a go out of interest. One way that the rubber can be machined is to freeze it. However that is where you need specialised equipment. Liquid nitrogen and all the parafinalia etc.

I can't think what they look like but is nylon an option? This has been used for bushes in the past. Not sure how it would cope in this setting though. Can anyone post a photo?

I tried them as well.

I'll see if we can get hold of some bushes for the dimensions. From what I've read, its a polyurethane compound - no rubber.

"what kindof price are they" - I paid about $170 all in for 2 sets including the shipping ($50).....course they never arrived

Energy Suspension in the USA used to make them I think so I've emailed them to ask if they have the dimensions.

I'd emailed the sales manager of Powerflex and it was him who replied saying they don't do them but might if I order 100 (well, really if they get 100 enquiries)

I'll maybe visit the agent tonight when they've left B) B)
