Hi i ha ve a toyota estima emina the temperature gauge was working the other day but as decided to stop workin anyone have a clue why this is thanks.

Most probably the wire from the sender unit on the engine has come off.

thankyou for the suggeston do you no where to locate the sender on my car thankyou.

Most probably the wire from the sender unit on the engine has come off.

These are normally on or near the thermostat housing. You may need to remove the inspection cover which is under the drivers seat, but first take a look under the car under the drivers side and follow the water pipes coming from and to the radiator to the point where the meet the cyilnder head at the front of the engine. One of these will go into the thermostat housing, an aluminum dome shaped structure . The sensor will be around there somewhere (more or less just above the oil filter) and will have only one wire coming out of it. See if you have a plug with a single wire dangling loose around there.

Hi i have now been able to fix my temperature gauge thanks to the help of propnut once again thankyou.
