1999 1.0 Yaris Gearbox

Hi There,

Not normally a visitor to TOC, I mainly lurk in Celica Club however I am after some advice regarding my mums Yaris.

It is running low on gearbox oil by the sounds of it, and I am looking as topping it up, however it appears to simple with 2 easily accessable bolts at the front of the gearbox.

Below I have highlighted what i believe to be the filler hole. Not the worlds best picture but if you know what you are looking for it makes sense. It is the large bolt just located under the grey connector within the yellow circle.

Could someone please confirm if indeed this is the right one for filling the gearbox and how much would an empty one take to fill. Believe me, it doesnt sound healthy at all.

hi ya the gearbox holds1.4 litres on the1.0 litre engine, the plug to fill it is accessed from under the car. You should see two filler bolts on the gearbox, the higher one on the side is used to fill it up
