I was just wondering if there was an easy answer to my question... I noticed this today when I am in a high gear e.g 5 or 6 and am at really low revs e.g 1500 and put my foot down that my engine makes a weird squeaking noise, can anyone help please!?

most likely your aux belt (the one you can see on the left of engine). try spraying some silicon spray on the belt when its running

Hi All

Same problem on my '56 plate GT

Strange 'whickering, whistling, whittering' noise from the L/H side of the engine in cold/damp/moist/wet conditions

This problem is temporarily sorted with 'sage' advice from this Forum, (et al)

Remove L/H AUX Belt Cover Plate & spray AUX Belt with WD40 for 2-3 secs from cold-start

Thank God, my GT will be booked in for a Cam Tensioner/Belt Change & update under the 3 Year Warranty in the next few months + Red 'GT Toyota Badge Replacement' + Rear Number Plate Lacquer Peeling Respray + GT Suspension/Brakes check + overhaul

All within the 3-Year Mr T.'s Warranty - Good old Mr T.

(Just like Kevlar - Expensive, Bruising, but ultimately, Bulletproof)

(In most cases........ but, the dead cannot speak.....)

Best Wishes

Felfy
