You know how when you first get a car, people automatically assume they can use you as a free taxi service?

I thought it would subside after a couple of years but, alas, it hasn't. I'm due to travel from Guildford to a party in Watford on the 30th of this month and it seemed that, the very moment I mentioned I was going, four people (three friends and one tagger-along) automatically assumed I'd take them with me and bring them back... Despite the fact that I live in Guildford, one of them lives in Ash (fair enough - ten minutes away) and the other three live in Morden/Wimbledon.

Of course, this all happened when I was driving the Golf.

Now I only have one spare seat (just bought an MR2), and it feels so damn good to have a genuinely good reason ("Just because I have a car doesn't mean I'm your !Removed! taxi service," generally doesn't qualify as a good excuse for some reason) to tell them all to sod off! Well, with the posisble exception of the guy from Ash but then that's no trouble really.

Play the most annoying music over and over again next time you take them anywhere, they will suddenly never ask for a lift again :D

I find, Blink 182's 'i wanna f@ck a dog in the ubik' works as does 'gay bar' from electric 6.

I find playing AC/DC back in black and atempting to drift every corner usually means a passenger is a one ride affair*.
