Towbars

Can anyone help with a towbar which will allow an Alko stabiliser to be used with the rear mounted spare wheel? Do you have to open the rear door to hitch up? Any help much appreciated.

Not got an Al-Ko but do have a Winterhoff stabiliser and it's no problem, the spare is nowhere near when hitching up, think the lever is a touch shorter than Al-Ko but you can get a shorter lever if need be. Don't think you'd be able to open the door then hitch up, mine opens about halfway before it fouls on the underside of the door when hitched.

I have an Alko stabiliser on my caravan, hitching up is no problem but the rear door wont open too far when hitched, we don't find this a problem we load the boot before hitching caravan.

Door doesn't open very far when hitched anyway. The wheel is too high to be a problem.
