2nd Hand Corolla Verso

Hi Everyone,

My name is Norbert, I'm new to the club. I used to have a '01 Corolla, which I crashed last year, now I'm looking to buy a Corolla Verso. My budget stretches up to £4500, I've seen a couple of 1.8s with 53 number plate and around 50-60k on the clock. Would you give me some advice on what to look for? Is there anything specific that could go wrong?

Thanks!

You'll find lots here and elsewhere on the MMT gearbox...

Hi

Welcome to the club...

Scored disc brakes seem to be the worst thing and effect quite a few, you can see the discs through the wheels, look for a nice smooth surface to the disc, no deep groves around it. Tyre wear is another area, put front tyres on full lock and check the inside edge, get you head under the back and check the rears as well... go for a full Toyota history, old mot's to verify milage and check EVERY switch does what it should and every seat lever etc works.....

Remember it is a buyers market so start with a silly offer and work up to get the best price, don't be afraid to walk away if ANYTHING looks too good to be true, there are plenty of cars around...

Good Luck, let us know how you get on.

Pete

Tyres are new on the car I'm going to see on Sunday. Full history + service invoces from main dealer. I'll make sure to spend enough time to check everything and drive it in different roads. Thanks very much for the advice!
